Priceline Hotel: Need help for 5/17-5/19/08 North or South Strip 5*

I would love any advice or tips on getting ANY 4-5* hotel in Vegas for Saturday May 17-18, 2008. (2 nights)I would like to keep the price around $150/night.

I will be staying in vegas on 5/17 and 5/18. I need to stay on the strip. Not sure as far as stars go--dont want a dump but doesnt have to be 5* for sure. North or South okay.

I am hoping to stay at or under 150/night. thanks for any help!

First thing to note is that the Westin is part of PRICELINE's South Strip zone, but it actually slightly off the strip... would this property be acceptable to you?

I'll add that a Saturday nite check-in can be problematic in Vegas and rates look very high for these dates. Do you have a back-up reservation anyplace and/or what is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional methods?

EDIT to Add: there is a Country Music Awards convention (40K attendees) and a Global Retail Real Estate Convention (50K attendees) during the dates above and that is likely what is causing the extremely high rates you're experiencing

I am sorry for the double post. I do not have any back up plan. My flight arrives saturday afternoon.

I did find one of the Palace hotels slightly off the strip for 249 plus taxes for the two nights.
