lamby Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Thank you in advance for all your help!I have already booked the May 30th -June 1st, won the Grand Hyatt, but I am having a very hard time getting anything accepted for the above dates. (Trying 2x a day as there are 2 of us).I don't understand, its right after memorial day and before the weekend! I really don't want to book individual days, rather have just 2 hotels! Is the Hotel that was in its soft opening still available for $153? I could not find that post and thought it was The Guild? And do you think that there will be more Hotels released closer to my desired date? I have run the gamut on trys, basically all zones (x-cept Brooklyn, L. Island, airports) with ranges from 140-165. What do you think the lowest realistic price is for 3* or 4*.
lamby Posted April 21, 2008 Author Report Posted April 21, 2008 Forget the Gild question, I called them via Quickbook and that deal is no longer available...... :)
lamby Posted May 2, 2008 Author Report Posted May 2, 2008 Finally won the Hilton Millenium for the highest price ever on Priceline, $170 per night and when I clicked on the website it had information about construction at ground zero (noise and street closures).I called them and they said it is indeed a noise issue, some people are effected by the noise. I am so disappointed in PRICELINE, that they would enable this hotel to be in the que with that major flaw. I'd rather have a QUIET RESTFUL 3*. :)
Kazakie Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 The Millenium Hilton the best Hilton in New York, easily the best hotel downtown and the with best staff. Everything is new since 2002, and it is close to the major subway lines.I and others have stayed there and we haven't experienced much of a noise issue (yes you can hear it, but it's hardly even close to overwhelming). You can also request a room facing east (away from ground zero).
