bigguy14 Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 I made several attempts to get a 4* in Downtown Toronto for 5/27/08 to 5/30/08. Bid using reb-bid zones all the way from $45 up to $80, and could not get anything. At last, I decided to switch to a 3*. I knew this leaves only 2 re-bid attempts, because only Scarborough and Toronto-East do not have any 3* hotels, rest all zones have 3* hotels. I started off $60. Was rejected. Priceline came back with a counter-offer saying that I should increase my bid by $17. I rejected that offer. I then rebid by adding free bid-zone of Scarborough for $65. Got rejected again. Then I added the last free-bid zone of "Toronto East", and got accepted by Delta Chelsea for $68. The price for the same hotel on Delta's website is $189 for the lowest price. That is 64% off the list price. Even though that is a decent savings I'd say, I am still puzzled why I could not get a 4* in the $60-$80 range. I saw other users facing similar problems around my dates as well.
