Welcome to BetterBidding!

For this period last year we saw prices less than this on Priceline, but using Priceline subjects you to other hotels in the area besides the Embassy Suites. However, this hotel has been getting tougher to get recently as they appear to have signed a contract with some of the cruise lines to be an 'in house' hotel... thus taking up the slack for a lot of their excess inventory.

Are you a large® family and need the extra room a suite hotel provides OR do you simply want to stay at the Embassy Suites? If price is important, how much more would you be willing to pay to stay at the ES vs. a simarly rated hotel? If this hotel wasn't offered on Hotwire would you be booking directly with the hotel or would you be taking your chances with Priceline/Hotwire anyway?

Let us know your thoughts to the above and we'll respond further.

we are only a couple but we enjoyed the embassy suites last year.

if i bid on priceline for an equivelant hotel. what hotel would i likely

get? are the other hotels in the port area as nice as embassy?

Posted

my first choice is embassy suites, second choice-marriott marina.

is their any strategy that would give a better chance of getting one

of these as opposed to the renaissance? i cant think of anything.

No strategy to help getting one over the other.

That is why i asked above "how much more would you be willing to pay to stay at the ES vs. a simarly rated hotel?"

This will help us determine a bidding strategy on priceline to try to beat Hotwire's price. For $10 more would you prefer the ES? How about for $20 more? $30? $40? $50?

Are you totally opposed to the Renaissance? It's actually a higher rated hotel and you could get 'upgraded', but if you're opposed to that property than Priceline may not even be a consideration.

Let us know and well recommend a strategy if you'd like.

You have one re-bid opportunity at the 3* level and this is what i woudl try...

Select 3* Ft. Lauderdale Downtown and...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $83.

If the above is rejected wait 72 hours and repeat the above but bid $87 and $95.

If that is rejected i would then just take the 3.5* offering on Hotwire.

Let us know how yo make out or if you have any questions.
