gdub Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 What's up again, I'm looking to take another trip to NYC on 6/20 though 6/23. Could definitely use your help again to get a good deal. I'm looking to spend $150 - $195 per night for a 4* and would prefer MTE over all other areas. Appreciate your help!

thereuare Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 Did you want to bid up to your maximum for the MTE zone first, or is price the most important and you'd prefer a less expensive hotel in one of the other nearby areas? Also, in your topic title you metnion the SoHo zone (which also includes the Downtown-Financial District area) but not MTW or UM-CPS or Times Square.... are you not interested in these other area but are interested in Downtown? (that's not what we typically see)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. gdub Posted April 29, 2008 Author Report Posted April 29, 2008 thanks for the response.I would say that price would be the most important but we definitely wish to stay at a 4* in any of those areas. I chose MTE really because of the Grand Hyatt, which is next to Grand Central that made commuting 20 x easier and chose Soho because we will probably spend most of our trip in that area. Is my min and max too low? I would think that since its not really a popular weekend, the range would be realistic? thanks for your help.
thereuare Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Please confirm... you only want a 4* hotel in the MTE, MTS, SOHO zones (you're not willing to include UM-CPS or MTW)Also, the majority of 4* hotels won are in the Downtown portion of the larger Downtown-SoHo zone... this area of the zone is acceptable to you? Please confirm the zones that you're willing to bid and we'll suggest a strategy to follow, aiming for the least expensive in any of the zones you mention as being acceptable. gdub Posted May 14, 2008 Author Report Posted May 14, 2008 hotel booked! received the Tribeca Grand for $200 a night for dates 6/20-6/23 booked through your PRICELINE link. Do you know if this hotel is walking distance to the Soho shops?
thereuare Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Congratulatons on your win!Glad to hear you received a hotel in the area you were hoping for. As i mentioned above, most of the hotel wins in this zone are more downtown in the financial area.Tribeca isn't really an area i know well (if you saw the way i dress you'd understand) but the area isn't that big and i'm sure you won't be too far away from where you'd like to be.On the otherhand, pizza is something i do know a lot about, and if you're interested in some good NYC pic (no slices) i'd try Aruturo's (106 W Houston) or Lombardi's Pizza (32 Spring St)... both of which aren't too far from your hotel (the latter being the more famous and well known of the two). Thanks for the post and for using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay. Kazakie Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Yep, the Tribeca Grand is easily in walking distance to shops and not too far from the subways
