l2ed_21 Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 Hey everybody,I have some sort of a problem because I am trying to get a 4* hotel for 3 split dates in July. I need 7/8-7/9, 7/11-7/14, and 7/17-7/22. My friends and I are looking to stay around the Midtown or Times Square area, trying not to be too picky as long as we're around a subway stop. I'm not quite sure what the most fun area would be for three 20-year-olds, but I thought that the majority of things to do would be in the Midtown area. Again, I'm' not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure that I have to separately bid on three different hotels. Where should I start??
l2ed_21 Posted April 24, 2008 Author Report Posted April 24, 2008 by the way, i had one more question, how do i know how many beds i am getting since i am traveling with 3 people? and if i don't, then how does that work out? thanks guys!
thereuare Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 You have a few issues if you decide to use PRICELINE:-priceline only guarantees double occupancy, assuming you're looking for one room, you could get a room which only has one bed... and no room for a rollaway cot (and if one is available, there may be an additional charge)-the posted minimum age to use PRICELINE is 21 years old, and somebody checking in must be that old. Many times front desk clerks dont' check (or maybe they do if/when you give them ID to check-in), but get a desk clerk that does check, especially if you land a hotel with a minibar (ie- alcohol) in the room, then you could be denied your room. Not sure if you're willing to accept the above risks. l2ed_21 Posted April 25, 2008 Author Report Posted April 25, 2008 Hmm...you're right. I don't think I'd be willing to take the risk of not being able to sleep somewhere for the night. Well, thanks anyways for the help and warnings of risk. I'll see about using HOTWIRE...
