I prefer a 4* hotel but will settle with a 3* if nothing comes up. I'm looking for double occupancy room with a budget around $200 a night.I'm looking to stay in MTE, MTS, MTW, TS, UES, UM, and MWS.How should I bid?Looking for a hotel has been driving me nuts. I really appreciate your help.Thanks in advance!

GCheung55 Posted April 22, 2008 Author Report Posted April 22, 2008 I read the 'Priceline Re-Bidding Explained' page but can you clarify something?If I start off with 4 stars, MTE and MTW selected, then I should be adding MTS, TS, or UMT as the next re-bid zone? It's kind of just going down the list each time I get rejected until I have to close the browser and start the proccess again?Thanks again!

thereuare Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Not sure if this is an otpion, but since your budget appears to be firm...If you're willing to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID, there is (what is believed to be) the Hyatt in Jersey City avaialble for the last 2 nites of your stay on HOTWIRE for just $135/nite. There is a PATH train 50 feet from the hotel entrance that will have you into Downtown Manhattan in under 10 minutes (midtown a bit longer at 20 minutes)... obviously not as convenient as staying in NYC, and you lose some of the 'nyc feel', but for the price it may be something you want to consider. Unfortunately this property is sold-out for the first nite of your stay, so you could try to find something in NYC for the first nite of your stay (applying some of the money saved to increase your budget) or find a different hotel in Jersey City for the first nite of your stay... but i'll add that at the moment this solo nite looks like it will be difficult regardless of where you're willing to stay.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and/or any questions you have regarding the above. I ended up going to my backup hotel.It was also bad timing considering that there were about 4 or 5 conventions going on in NYC during my trip, thus the difficulty.Thanks for your help though!
