thereuare Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! Is there something in particular you're looking for from this stay? I'm seeing higher rated hotels for less money than the above, so if you're not looking for something specific i think you can do better than the above. If you're only considering the Times Square area be sure to read our thoughts there: Hotels Near Times Square.Let us know and we'll advise accordingly. rocky3434 Posted April 21, 2008 Author Report Posted April 21, 2008 Thanks for the replyI have a backup room booked at The Belvedere for $1430 Inc tax. (booked last Sept)Would prefer a modern high-rise style hotel with bar/restaurant in any midtown area. For the last few weeks I have been watching the two Affinia Hotels..50/Dumont, which my wife likes the look of..both about $2000.The Marriot Marquis is about $1850 for our dates about $200 above our budget but tempting.. Thanks again
thereuare Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 The Belvedere gets very good reviews, so what is it that you don't like about it? (not modern enough)What i believe the Helmesley New York is available on HOTWIRE for your dates for about the same price 'all-in' as your back-up reservation... perhaps that fits your requirements better? The Sheraton NY is also available within your budget, and that's certainly a modern hi-rise with restaurant and bar... but i dont' think the reviews would be as good as your back-up or the Helmsley above. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin any purchases you make.Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there. rocky3434 Posted April 21, 2008 Author Report Posted April 21, 2008 The Helmsley is on the Expedia sale at the moment 30% off
thereuare Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 Is splitting your stay btween two different hotels an option? If so, i think i had seen some other options. (but this is time consuming to put together, so if not really an option, please say so) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
