I have a question when bidding for a resort on Priceline. If you select the 'Resort' category and you don't get your first bid, are you able to downgrade to a 4 or 3* category? In other words will any category of hotel quality be blacked out (i.e. if you bid initially on a 3* you cant choose a 4* on your next try)?

Yes, you can go from Resort to 4* (and then subsequently to 3*)... but not up to 5*.

However, when bidding resort there are likely to be re-bid zones available so that you don't need to lower your quality right away if your original zone is your prefered area.

... or 5* properties.

If you'd like, post the area you'll be bidding and which zones you think are your re-bid zones... we'll then confirm it for you (and this should help minimize and mistakes). You can also add the strategy you intend on using (or ask us for a recommended strategy).

If you didn't see it, or for anyone else following along, re-bidding is discussed in detail here: PRICELINE RE-BIDDING.
