I am starting to panic that I have no Hotel yet! I want 4*, but will settle for a 3.5 if necessary. I have read the posts and think I understand the process, but closing the browser did nothing for me in my attempts, it came back with my last choices checked. Am I missing something here? I would like to spend no more than 149-159 per night. Also are my chances better to break it up?? I prefer CP/UWS and would love to get the Waldorf again. I guess it was luck before using Priceline randomly, now I need to use my chances wisely as I see suggested on here. Thank you.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Your budget is not likely enough for a 4* hotel the complete stay above... especially in the UM-CPS which is one of the more expesive zones for 4 star hotels. Is this the only zone you're willing to bid? (as a side note, the Waldorf is in the MTE zone, but probably not a realistic expecation since it hasn't been reported as a win in a few years)

Next, PRICELINE doesn't offer 3.5* hotels in their rating system... the next lowest star rating would be 3 stars. Is this acceptable to you?

Which zones did you bid when you were rejected up to $159?

You might be successful for part of your stay by splitting your bid (and adding other zones besides the UM-CPS zone), but i'm not sure if this is an option for you.

This morning I tried again- and when I resorted to a 3* (after all my 4* zones were depleted at the highest rate of 159) I get (what they said was) a 4* ,The Grand Hyatt for 148.00 per night 5/30-6/1. I don't really understand the bidding concept here, try as I might, but at least I got something! Now the 27th - 30th should be easier to find as it is not a weekend when the rates seem to be higher. This has been the hardest I have ever had to work for a Priceline Hotel! The zones at $159 were all of them except Brooklyn and Long Island, it was just a last ditch attempt for anything 4*. When I resort to 3*, I lowered the price and I can't remember what zones. I'll ket you know what I get for May 27th -30th. Thanks for your help, much appreciated!
