Priceline Hotel: Bidding Help, NYC TS 4/30/08-5/6/08

Hi, I've been reading this with a friend and gone over all of the rebidding...etc etc. I think i understand.

We are looking for NYC, TS only, for 4/30-5/6. We'll split if we have to (seems money 5/5 is very pricey). Budget is that we want to save a lot of money, but we could go up to $300 if we have to.

Also, we can both do the bidding/rebidding if we have to.

So we would try something like the following?

Bid 4* TS $140

Bid 4* TS UES $145

Bid 4* TS UWS $150

Bid 4* TS LIC $155

Bid 4* TS BKLN $160

Bid 4* TS UES UWS $165

Bid 4* TS UES LIC $170

Bid 4* TS UES BKLN $175

Bid 4* TS UWS LIC $180

Bid 4* TS UWS BKLN $185

Bid 4* TS LIC BKLN $190

Bid 4* TS UES UWS LIC $195

Bid 4* TS UES UWS BKLN $200

Bid 4* TS UWS LIC BKLN $205

(if we get nothing, other person can do the same, starting at a higher spot so we can get up to $250?)

Does that seem right?

QUestions....

-Do you have to close the browser after every bid?

-Is it often a problem to do a 6-night stay? Will we have a better chance splitting it?

Your approach looks good, but you have two additional bids to what you've posted above, add to the end:

4* TS BKLYN LIC UES ($215)

4* TS BKLYN LIC UES UWS ($220)

If the other person is then able to bid and follows the same you'll get up to $295.

Six nites could be problematic this time of year, but if you try the above up to $300 before splitting depends upon how much you are trying to avoid changing hotels during your stay.

We ended up having to really split this up due to the timing and the cost. I'll have to look up the exact wins, but for 2 nights, we couldn't even get in the ballpark for Times Square. I think we did a combination of hotwire and priceline (using the links from this forum), stayed at 4 different hotels, and did save money from what we would have spent.

Would you want a separate post for each win? I had been out of town and then a friend got sick in the hospital so I wasn't around to update.
