Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip North) The Venetian

I am dumbfounded. I am a regular user of PRICELINE and use the outcomes of other bidder's results to determine my bids. In attempting to bid on a 5* on the strip (hoping to get The Pallazio or Venetian) I have seen bids being accepted in the $140-$160 range. All of my bids have been declined starting at $150 all the way up to $220. Is there anyone that can provide some advise on how to get a 5* bid accepted w/o paying $300+? Thanks so much!

We are looking at 5/30-6/1 (2 nights).

Current rates at the Venetian are $449/nite and at the Palazzo are $499... your maximum bid of $220 won't likely be enough if rates remain this high (and $300 may not be enough either).

While PRICELINE wins at these properties often represent some of the best value in Vegas, we seldom see discounts of 50% or more... and as rates go higher, we often see the savings on a percentage basis go down.

I had to continue bidding up until my $259 offer was accepted. A great hotel well below the lowest posted price of $449 but not nearly as low as other weekends within a month that were regularly getting bids of $150 accepted.

Based upon the retail price of the hotel i'll assume you won the Venetian and we've add this as the hotel you won to the topic title... i this correct or did you win the Palazzo or some other 5* hotel in the zone?
