capn00 Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 Will accept either 3 or 4* but really want to limit the location the to Copley-Theatre area. Maximum at this time would be about $150 but really would like to settle closer to $125.I have looked over some of the 2 zone options, but want to narrow it to just one with 3 or 4* acceptable. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
thereuare Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3* or is your goal the least expensive 3* or better property on these dates? If you are willing to bid more for a 4*, did you want to go up to $125 or $150 before switching to a 3* minimum star rating?Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. capn00 Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 I am willing to pay more for a 4* so I guess I would go up to $150 for a 4* then drop down to 3* if needed and start over at lower levels. Thanks
thereuare Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Rates are high for your dates, but i would try one round of lowballing first simply because you have time on your side.I'd start with the following:At the 4* level you have three re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Copley-Theater...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE.Select 4* Copley-Theater and re-bid zone2...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $105, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE.Select 4* Copley-Theater and re-bid zone3...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $115, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE.Select 4* Copley-Theater and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $125I don't expect the above to be successful, so don't get discouraged if it's not, but i'd try that first. If/when rejected post back and we'll revise to try again in 24 hours. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. capn00 Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 No luck in that round, but as you said, I have some time.I would like to give it a shot once more at the 4* level, but I am definitely willing to settle for 3* in that area for around the pricing we just tried. I am still willing to go up to $150 for 4*.Thanks for your help so far, I look forward to round 2.
thereuare Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 24 hours after your last rejected bid, try again as follows:Select 4* Copley-Theater...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE.Select 4* Copley-Theater and re-bid zone2...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE.Select 4* Copley-Theater and re-bid zone3...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE.Select 4* Copley-Theater and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $150Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let su know how it goes. capn00 Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Posted April 17, 2008 No luck. Is that unreasonable? I just thought I had a chance since 2 different people have won Westin rooms during that period at $110.We can move our trip up by a day if that will help. Here is what has been posted on the forum.Jun 19-22 - $110 Westin - CopleyJun 20-22 - $110 Westin - CopleyIs that Sunday night really the kicker? Any suggestions?
thereuare Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 At the Westin Website rates for the nite if the 21st are only available if you also book the 20th, and rates for the 22nd and 23rd are $399 and $469 respectively (a significant jump over the previous nites)Can you start your stay a nite sooner (6/20-6/24) and SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID... staying at one hotel 6/20-6/22 and then another hotel for the nite of 6/22 or 6/22-6/24? (depending upon if you choose to make this a 3 nite trip or extend it one day to a 4 nite trip given you're starting a day early)...or you should we look for alternate options? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there.
