unstablecndition Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 I am going to be looking for a 4 or 5* mid-south Strip hotel (with a Casino - i.e. no Westin!) between 3/18/09 and 3/22/09. This is far enough out that I can't yet book reservations at the hotel sites.A year ago I got the PH at a steal at $89/night for the same weekend in 2008. Unfortunately they've closed that little loophole at spg.com and the same weekend next year is already pricing out at 209/night.Given that I have nearly all the time in the world to get the best possible deal, do you have any recommendations for strategy using either PL or HW?
unstablecndition Posted April 12, 2008 Author Report Posted April 12, 2008 Just because I spoke a bit too soon...Was just able to book a refundable room at the IP for $90/night average, so that's a smoking deal even if it isn't a 4* property. Gives me a lot of flexibility to lowball throughout the year and maybe even stumble into something last minute.Love the site and looking forward to your thoughts!
thereuare Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Post back (bump this thread) in 1-2 weeks when you're within 330 days of your stay and you're actually able to start bidding. It doesn't make any sense to look at prices today when you're not able to do anything with that information.PS- for your IP reservation, make sure you're not in the "motor lodge" rooms behind the hotel, as those are probably not what you're looking for as they're of very low quality Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
