Priceline Hotel: Bid Assistance-NYC 5/15-17

I am looking for anything 2 star or higher for NYC from 5/15 to 5/17. I bid today and yesterday on 2-4 stars in Downtown, MTE, MTW, and Times Square. Bid $100 yesterday and $110 today with no luck. We just stayed at Guild Hall in Downtown last weekend and loved it (got it for $100 on priceline). Any help would be greatly appreciated. We have a backup plan if this doesn't work but we'd really like to save money this time around if we could. We'd like to spend about $100-$125 a night but could go up to $150.

Also, I understand the concept of rebidding but don't understand how exactly to go about getting the 4-5 bids that are suggested in most of these posts. Could someone help me out. I just made my list of which areas have which star hotels available but I still don't quite understand some of the suggestions that make it seem like I could try more per category.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't have any re-bid zones at the 2* level in NYC.

Are you sure you're willing to accept a 2* hotel? Some of them may be 'fine', but there are some that probably aren't, and you can't choose which type you will get. The Guild Hall is a special circumstance since that hotel is currently going thru a soft opening... it will almost certainly be 4* when fully operational, but is currently rated lower since it doesn't have many of the amenities that are required for a higher rating (so i would NOT expect the same type of accomodations as you experienced at the Guild Hall when staying at a different 2* hotel obtained thru PRICELINE)

We stay at 2* hotels fairly often. We are members of club quarters and know the no-nonsense type of lodging that comes with it. We would of course prefer a 2.5 or even a 3 but price is really driving this trip into the city. We wouldn't mind switching hotels as we'll only have a backpack with us.

Where would you like me to put my priceline guild hall find? I am brand new to this board!!

In regards to your current stay, Club Quarters are typically rated 3* or higher on PRICELINE, so what you get at the 2* level will likely be more 'spartan' than that. Assuming you still want to bid 2* or higher, is there a reason you're not including the UM-CPS and/or MTS zone(s)?

Wow, who would have thought a small CQ club room would be a 3*. Anyway, I do think that 2* is okay for us. No real reason not to include those other zones, just that I am far less familiar with them.
