Hi there.

I'm looking for 2 rooms: 3* or 4* in Copley or Quincy 5/22-5/25 for under $100/night/room.

I've been following the strategies for similar stays for a while now, bidding and rebidding with all the rebid zones etc for a few weeks with no luck.

Does the fact that I need 2 rooms make a significant difference?

Thanks.

Sorry to post twice, but...maybe I can save someone the trouble of typing this all out, since all I did was copy/paste from another topic and change names and numbers.

Based on what I've read, this is the strategy I should be following:

3* Copley or Quincy, Max price $105. Please correct anything if its wrong.

South Boston, Brookline, and Medford DO NOT have 3* so I've delegated them as my rebid zones

1, 2, and 3 respectively.

Select 3* Copley...

Bid $60, if rejected add South...

Bid $65, if rejected add Brookline...

Bid $70, if rejected close browser and re-access thru our link to PRICELINE

Select 3* Quincy Market...

Bid $60, if rejected add South...

Bid $65, if rejected add Brookline...

Bid $70, if rejected close browser and re-access thru our link to PRICELINE

Select 3* Copley and Medford...

Bid $75, if rejected add South...

Bid $80, if rejected add Brookline...

Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access thru our link to PRICELINE

Select 3* Quincy Market and Medford...

Bid $75, if rejected add South...

Bid $80, if rejected add Brookline...

Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access thru our link to PRICELINE

Select 3* Copley and Quincy...

Bid $90, if rejected add South...

Bid $95, if rejected add Brookline...

Bid $100, if rejected add Medford...

Bid $105

Just out of curiosity, would the fact that I am using someone else's credit card impact my win? See, I'm booking 2 rooms--one of them is for a friend who will be meeting me in Boston. He offered to put the rooms on his credit card, but I am the one doing the bidding.

They ask for your initials before you place your bid; do you think the fact that the inititals used, (mine) are different from the name on the credit card should make a difference? I'm just curious since Ive been bidding for a month now with no success.

You should probably be getting messages that the initials dont' match and not even making it to the next screen... PRICELINE assumes that the person making the bid is the owner of the credit card.

I would re-try the above with the credit card owner's initials just to make sure that is not the issue, but i'm doubtful it is.

Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.

Let us know what happens and we'll then comment further on your bidding above.

I have not been getting a message about the initials not matching. Perhaps that is because there are 2 rooms and one room will be in my name.

However, yes, I will try again tomorrow, using the PRICELINE links here of course, with the credit card holder's initials and see if anything changes.

Thanks.
