Hi,

Visiting NY to run the NY marathon ( :) ) the previous weekend, and was hoping to treat myself to some luxury before we leave on the Friday.

I would LOVE to stay in the Waldorf and any tips about how far in advance to bid and how much to bid would be very gratefully received.

Should I try to bid now? Will it get cheaper if I wait til right before the dates I need? Is the Waldorf a common hotel to get on priceline?

How much should I bid? Is $300 reasonable?

Many many thanks!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

You can't bid on a specific hotel... if you're going to bid on PRICELINE, you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone(s) you bid at the minimum star rating you select.

As well, if you enter "Waldorf Astoria" (without the quotes) in the QUICK SEARCH box in the blue banner at the top of the board, you'll see that this hotel has not been reported in over 2 years, so i would think the chances of winning this particular property are very low.

If you'd still like to bid, but not for a particular hotel, let us know which zone(s) you're willing to accept, your minimum star rating, and your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.

Any questions regarding the above feel free to ask.
