sjstarkey
Hi.. I am looking to find a 4* for the last 2 days of our stay in NY. We are renting a penthouse apartment in the Financial district for the first 2 days. I do not have any specific area I want to stay. I would like to find something not in the Financial District, since we will have been there already.I think my limits will be $200 and I can wait until we get to New York on the 23rd before I bid, if I need to.Do you think I have any chance? :) Thanks for your help and I love this site. I came from the other site. :) Staci Link to comment

sjstarkey
Thanks, I will try these. I do have a cancelable back up at the cosmopolitan for $200 a night. I noticed that NY Hilton and the Sheraton are 279 a night. I am hoping with those rates, everyone else will be dropping their rates.I will use the PRICELINE link. :) Link to comment
sjstarkey
I tried the bidding, no luck! :) Should I try everyday or once a week, until it gets closer to the date? Thanks for the help Link to comment
thereuare
Once every 5-7 days should be sufficient at this time. However, i'd look into the two back-up suggestions i mentioned above, as i think they'll provide you a better location than the Cosmo.Keep us updated. sjstarkey
I cancelled my reservation at the Cosmo and made one through Quikbook link for the Millenium UN Plaza. It had a decent rate and my daughter likes how big the rooms look and the indoor pool.I will try to bid again over this weekend and see if any bites. I figure your advise about once a week is good and since I can bid until 6/23, I hope I have a good chance of getting a great rate!!!Thanks for the help Link to comment

sjstarkey
And you're willing to pay more for than your back-up... even though they won't have a pool for your daughter? How high have you bid on PRICELINE?I have bid up to the $200 bid on the 4*s like you suggested. I will stay at the millenium un plaza, if i cannot find a hotel closer to the action of nyc. I am only trying to find something that will make my daughter feel like a princess..... :) one of the hotwire hotels has a hotel listed. I am afraid of heights, so I will have to close my eyes and hang on tightly when I have to ride up the elevators at th millenium un plaza. I am being told the rroms start at the 28th floor.trying to keep all m options open Link to comment
sjstarkey
I just got 70 Park Avenue from HOTWIRE. It was offered at $299 a night. We think it looks very nice and are happy with this.We used the HOTWIRE link. Also, decided to use hotwire, so I could defer the payments for 90 days. That way I will have the extra money for spending while in New York. Thanks for all the help!!!! :) Link to comment
