Dionysia Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 First bid was $75 in Bloomsbury/Marble Arch - rejectedSecond bid was $80 , added Finsbury/Islington - rejectedThird bid was $92, added Kensington-Earl's Court-KnightsbridgeAccepted at $92, total comes to $444 for the whole stay, including taxes/fees.I really hope the hotel isn't as craptastic as some of the Tripadvisor reviews says it is.I probably shouldn't have gotten greedy and just accepted $89/night for the 3* Holiday Inn Express - Earl's Court from HOTWIRE. Oh well, lesson learned.

tenerifesharon Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 We had a perfectly fine 3 night post-cruise stay at the Copthorne Tara exactly one year ago. We won it for - IIRC- $76 per night. When we got there, they were offering upgrades to the executive rooms for GBP 35 per night extra. It was really worth the difference. We had a large room, free internet, free full breakfast in the executive club and free cocktails and snacks during happy hour. The biggest advantage of this hotel is the proximity to the Kensington High Street tube station -- less than a 5 minute walk. The hotel may not be great, but it's really o.k.
Dionysia Posted April 5, 2008 Author Report Posted April 5, 2008 Unfortunately, an additional $70 per night would mean we were paying $162/night. Talk about insult to injury. :)
