Priceline Hotel: 4* San Diego (Coastal) Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina

As there are plenty of rebid opportunities I began very low at $60 and increased by $5 to $75 and then went to $78 (as this was a previously reported win for the Hyatt La Jolla) which was accepted.

I was surprised to get the Mission Bay property, as the Priceline retail rate was $219 compared to the Priceline retail rate of $174 for the Hyatt Regency La Jolla. It was priced higher on the Hyatt website too.

Subtotal: $156.00

Taxes & Service Fees: $28.93

Total Charges: $184.93

Total on the Hyatt website for cheapest room was $425.51, so a saving of $240.58. Happy with the saving, that it wasn't the 'cheapest' hotel available and that it's a newly refurbished hotel.

I often find very little correlation between the hotel with the least expensive retail rate and the hotel that is ultimatley received thru PRICELINE or HOTWIRE.
