Priceline Hotel: Looking to book a 3 or 4 * hotel in FT. Lauderdale beach area

I was wondering if anyone could help me out, I'm new to bidding on PRICELINE. I'm trying to book my parents a hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, but they need something within walking distance to the beach. From what I can tell (and i'm not sure if I'm doing this right) the 4 *s in this area are:

- Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort

- Hyatt regency Pier 66

- Il Luggano Hotel

- The Atlantic

- St. regis Resort

3*s are:

- Sheraton Yankee Trader

- Gallery One Ft. Lauderdale (Doubletree)

How can I find out how far they are from the beach?

And what would I even start as an opening bid? Is there a certain percentage of listing price that you start with?

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
