Priceline Hotel: Need help bidding strategy Memphis 5/1

Hello to all.

I am trying to figure out what my best strategy would be for an overnight stay in Memphis on 5/1/08.

I will be coming in 55 from St. Louis & continuing on 55 to New Orleans so it appears I want to stay either downtown or Memphis Airport but am okay with anything with 10-15 minutes off of 55. I would like to stay at a 2.5-3 star but really just need a decent, clean place to sleep as I will not be arriving until around 9-10pm & will be leaving fairly early. I would like to go no higher than $50 but would like to be closer to $40. Is this realistic?

I will be coming back through there on 5/9/08 & would like to do pretty much the same thing in reverse. I'm guessing it will cost more since it's a Friday Night.
