Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas North or South Strip

I'll be traveling through Vegas on the 1st on military orders- which means I'll be using per diem rates. That means I've got up to $124 to spend on a hotel room. Rooms rates for a decent place are well beyond that for that date, so I'm going to priceline it. I'd like to get the most band for the buck, and since 5* rooms are usually only a few bucks more that a 4* room, i don't mind paying a few extra bucks out-of-pocket for the upgrade. I'd be happy with either Wynn (not sure if i'ts a priceline hotel) or Venetian on the North, or Bellagio (again, not sure if it's in the system) or theHOTEL on the south side of the strip. I'll probably try to lowball the bid witht he full per diem rate of $124, but I'm not expecting it to win. A bid of $150 seems a little more realistic. Any other thoguhts? I know it's short notice too- have to act fast!

You can see the 5* hotels reported to the board in the corresponding Priceline Hotel List and Hotwire Hotel List.

Hotels currently suspected of being 5 stars, but not yet reported to the board (so unknown participating) are the Wynn (only reported thru HOTWIRE... not with PRICELINE) and the Bellagio.

If you let us know your maximum bid we will suggest a strategy for you to follow.

Thanks for the reply! I'd be willing to go as high as $150 for a 5*. If that doesn't take, I'd be happy with a 4* for under $124. I've never tried Hotwire before, but if there is a better change of getting a 5* for under $150, I'd be willing to give it a shot.

I'll also note that this is just one night of a week-long road trip including stays in Anaheim, Las Vegas, Albequerque, Dallas, Houston, and New Orleans. I plan on pricelining just about all of them!

At the 5* level you have seven re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 5* North and South Strip...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $150.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Well I used the PRICELINE links on here to get to priceline, and using the rebid process, went up to $150 on the 5* then up to $130 on a 4*- nothing. I'll probably try again tomorrow night, but I'm not expecting much. Thanks again for the pointers though!

It doesn't hurt to keep trying. Make sure you wait the full 24 hours before you try again. Be aware that you could end up with the Westin if you bid 4 stars in the south zone. Some people aren't too thrilled with that.
