ihqazi
I was trying to get a cheap price on a 2.5 or 3* hotel on 3/17 for the next day for my mother since her plans to stay with a friend around DC fell through. She was dropping off a friend of hers at Regan airport so we first tried Crystal city. We went through a lot of requests detailed below for almost an hour before we got this 4*. Not easy to book a day before.Check-In Date: Tuesday, March 18, 2008 Check-Out Date: Wednesday, March 19, 2008 Hotel Name: Renaissance M Street Hotel1143 New Hampshire Ave Nw Washington, District Of Columbia 20037 202-775-0800Your Offer Price: $85.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $85.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $20.14 Total Charges*: $105.14 Request history:First requested Crystal city(right beside airport) at 3* and 55 and rejectedThen added Springfield(no 3*'s) and went to 60 and rejectedThen redid with just crystal city for 2.5* at 60 and rejectedadd 2* at 63 and rejectedRedid bid and did Crystal city and Alexandria - Old Town Area for 2.5* at 50 rejected added White House - Downtown rejected added Georgetown - Foggy Bottom and 55 rejected added Convention Ctr - Capitol Hill and 60 rejected added Dupont Circle - Woodley Park 63 rejected added Arlington and 65 rejected added Springfield at 65 rejectedRebid on Crystal city and Arlington for 2* at 65 and rejectedRebid using 4* at White House - Downtown , Georgetown - Foggy Bottom at 85 and finally got the M Street.....Very tough this time around. Not sure if it was because day before of because of some large conference around there. I really was worried wouldn't get anything, but still did manage to get a very nice hotel for too much. My mother and her friend really liked it and even with the 32 dollar valet parking charge it was still well worth it. There was even a timely shuttle from the hotel to the airport so it worked out nice for my mother. Many thanks to all the other forum contributors whose posts helped me out in making the bids.
