sroloson Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 A friend and I are planning a visit to New York. (We arrive May 14 and leave May 18.) The only concrete plans we have is to see a Mets game on the 15th, and a Yankees/Mets game on the 16th or 17th. The rest of the time will be used seeing the things that the average visitor wants to see when visiting New York for the first time. Can anyone suggest location advice and what we should consider when we start bidding?($200/night is probably the most we want to spend but we plan on spending no time in the room so a cheaper alternative that has easier access to city transportation is probably what we are looking for.)Thanks
thereuare Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Generally speaking, MTE, MTW, Times Square, UM-CPS, and MTS (this last zone a slightly less so, but still 'ok' for most visitors) generally all work out fine. There is also a thread here which may help: Priceline Zones New York City (Times Square isn't included in there as that is a new zone which didn't exist when written and we haven't had time to update it yet)If you let us know which zones you're willing to accept, and your minimum star rating, we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. sroloson Posted March 25, 2008 Author Report Posted March 25, 2008 We are willing to accept any of the listed zones and would go as low as a 2-star. My problem with going with a 2-star is that you may end up with a high-end dump. This makes me think we should go with a 3-star.

sroloson Posted March 29, 2008 Author Report Posted March 29, 2008 Sorry It took so long to reply but I was away for a few days.I tried the strategy and had no luck. Because I have never been to New York before, I don't know if it is better to spend a little more money, or to save alot of money and stay near LaGuardia.
thereuare Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 I would not recommend staying by LGA.Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
