iroc326 Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 What are the other 3* hotels in UM-CPS ?If Hudson is the only one, would 150/night have been right to start with ?
iroc326 Posted March 17, 2008 Author Report Posted March 17, 2008 I've been trying to get a 4* with the following bids in Manhattan (Downtown-SOHO,upperMT-CPS) with the following bids unsuccesfully :180$191$198$201$209$211$218$What should I do next ?
thereuare Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 All hotel reported to the board would be in our Priceline Hotel List Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
thereuare Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Did you only bid two zones (UM-CPS and Downtown) or you stating that you included all zones from UM-CPS all the way down to the lower tip of Manhattan? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
thereuare Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Do you have reason to be in these two zones specifically... they're usually the first zones chosen by the typical user. Most prefer to stay in midtown... selecting MTE, MTW, UM-CPS, Times Square, and sometimes MTS as well. You can read a description of the Priceline New York City zones and ask any questions you have.Let us know your thoughts regarding the zones and we'll take it from there. iroc326 Posted March 18, 2008 Author Report Posted March 18, 2008 Last night I got up to 231$ across all Manhattan zones without any luck.Any idea what I should do next ?
thereuare Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 Quickbook (please use this link) has the Gild Hall for $209/nite. This hotel is going thru a 'soft opening' so many services are not available last i heard (ie- restaurant, room service, etc) but the hotel is supposedly very 'chic' with high end rooms and amenities (high thread count sheets, towels, great beds, etc). Not sure of your needs for this stay but this is a decent deal for this time of year, so you may want to consider this if some of the 'missing' items don't bother you. Note that PRICELINE currently rates this property 2 stars since it is lacking amenties required for anything more than that, but i'm fairly certain it wll be rated much high once the hotel is complete. (i'm not suggesting you bid 2* on PRICELINE as you could easily receive a different 2 star hotel... just didn't want you to question things if you saw this rated 2 star on PRICELINE)If you need a 'full service' the Fitzpatrick Grand Central is available for $269/nite (also thru Quickbook) and gets excellent reviews... just a little more than you have already bid. Both of the above are fully cancellable up until a few days before your stay, so you may want to book one of them and then use that as a "price to beat" while you continue to try PRICELINE (and HOTWIRE)What is your thoughts regarding the above and maximum bid for this stay? iroc326 Posted March 20, 2008 Author Report Posted March 20, 2008 All hotel reported to the board would be in our Priceline Hotel ListThe 2 other hotels listed in your link are :3* Park Central New York 3* Wellington HotelWhen searching on each hotel website, there is availability. When searching through Priceline, these don't show up in the search results.Does this mean that bidding for a 3* in the UMC zone will only include the Hudson ?Thx.
thereuare Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. When searching through Priceline, these don't show up in the search results.Does this mean that bidding for a 3* in the UMC zone will only include the Hudson ?No, see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ regarding using the PRICELINE retail product to determine availability thru the name your own price service. Please remember to use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your searches and purchases.
