I would like to bid on a 4* hotel in LV for two weeks. I understand that most people seem to use pricline for stays that are much shorter than this. Therefore i was just wondering if you think i could still get a good deal and how much should i expect to pay. I have my bidding strategy sorted i bid 70 dollars and got a counter bid of 98 but this is a little out of our price range we would like to pay 85 dollars max- what do you think, do i have a chance??

thanks x

Welcome to Betterbidding.

IMHO priceline is NOT a good bargain in Las Vegas. There are always offers direct from the casinos that easily beat priceline.

Also, hotel rates vary enormously over the week, with weekends usually more expensive.

In order for a priceline win to be successful the rate must match the lowest available during the stay. So if the weekend priceline lowest winning bid is a lot higher than the week day priceline winning bid you will pay the highest rate over the whole stay. Not much saving if any for a non refundable hotel.

For long stays it is usually the best option to split your bid.

Las Vegas a Priceline Exception

SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID

Not sure if you're willing/able, but i would advise to split the bid... give you a different perspective by staying in different areas of the strip, as well as possibly staying Downtown for one of the weekends since this should save on costs as well.

As well, you can often find good deals thru the promotions at the MGM Grand properties... use our Las Vegas Checker to assist in your rate search.

Let us know your thoughts and we'll advise accordingly.

Hi i would like to start by saying a big thank-you to everyone on this site.

For the las few weeks i have been reading all the posts and info on this site and have found it extremely helpful. Armed with all this information i was able to get the Venetian for 1 week from 05/04/08 for 147 dollars a night!

I feel that this is a really good deal as i think its approx 200 dollars a night on their website for the same week.

I am particulary pleased because we will be celebrating our first wedding anniversary that week- however unfortunatly we will then be moving down scale to the excalibur for our second week (we are coming from the uk) unless i can get a good deal on priceline for that week as well :)

thanks again
