Maybe I'll make a journey out here just so there will be a more recent post. It's been 6 months!

I've always wanted to see Mount Rushmore!

Actually I went to Rapid city on October 2006 in order to see Mount Rushmore et al.

I tried to bid on priceline but as others have reported it is very tough to get a win at a reasonable price.

In the end I got a good rate ($50 +tax) at

Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Rapid City

2321 NORTH LACROSSE STREET

RAPID CITY, SD 57702

Mount Rushmore was brilliant!

We're not considered a travel mecca :) But you are correct, Mount Rushmore is a rush, the hot Springs are "hot" , the Badlands "bad" and the Black Hills beautiful, and the rest of the state just very flat. Any questions give me a shout. Oh and PS....the temperature ranges from 105 to minus 30. Variety is the spice of life :)
