Jshappy
for Friday March 21 for one night, $156. Fitness center, restaurant, high speed internet, pool business center, golf nearby. The thing that confuses me it says only 17% savings from $189, I don't think you can get a 4* hotel there for $189. I've never used hotwire. Link to comment
thereuare
The above is a match for the Hyatt Century Plaza so that would be our best guess. The retail rates are often incorrect, as they're for a hotel of that star rating within the zone, but in this instance the price at the Hyatt website is indeed $189 for your nite above. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Jshappy
Thanks for your help. I've never used hotwire, only priceline. Since the $156 was hotwire's price I figured I could get it cheaper using priceline. First bid $110 4* Beverly Hills/West Hollywood (felt this was low but don't want to get accepted on first bid then I would have overpaid!) Rejected, counteroffered to bid right then by upping bid by $22. Figured they were baiting me so I refused and re-bid.Second bid $120 , added Westwood area. Bid accepted and you were indeed right, Hyatt Century Plaza. One night March 21.Pleased with win. I would have been happy with the 2 1/2 star Crown Plaza but don't like to take the chance of getting the Hyatt West Hollywood--stayed there once and was NOT happy. Thanks again for your assistance.Forgot to add--used your PRICELINE link. Link to comment

coast2coast21
I think you mean the 3* Crowne plaza.... Link to comment
Jshappy
I thought the Crown Plaza was a 2.5 star hotel, we stayed there in Nov. Very nice hotel. I think I got the supposed 3 star Hyatt W. Hollywood once, didn't like it. So the next time I bid 2.5* and got the Crown Plaza. Link to comment
coast2coast21
^ You must have got upgraded then....the only 2.5* Priceline in that area is the Residence Inn. And I've stayed at the Hyatt 3-4 times, and I know what you mean, it's not worthy of a 3*. But the renovating should be complete so I might try it again next month... Link to comment
Jshappy
I'm sure you are right, it was probably the residence inn, a 2 1/2 * , but it was very nice. I am afraid of bidding in that zone because of the Hyatt west hollywood. Link to comment
coast2coast21
^Well if you bid a 2.5* in that zone for between $65-90 you should be pretty safe in getting the Residence Inn because the Hyatt is a 3* and usually goes for over $100. Link to comment
