aharris23 Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 On the morning of 3/17, I reserved 2 rooms via Priceline for 3/20-3/23 (used the PRICELINE link on this forum), and ended up with the Venetian for $159/night. Not bad, I'm satisfied getting this rate with 3 days notice, especially for the first weekend of the NCAA Basketball Tourney.Started bidding at $125, and selected only 5* North Strip. Priceline countered at $177. I rejected that. From there I would increase my bid about $5, and would add a zone (did not include south strip).Got up to $155, and PL still rejected, then next bid at $159 was accepted. Still had a couple of zones left to try to rebid. This forum definitely helped me. Great idea. Best of luck. :)
Amy72 Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 I new and still trying to figure this out. Why did you not include the south strip in your bidding? Thanks!
thereuare Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 aharris23,Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your win... thank you for sharing your win with the rest of the board.Glad to hear the forum was helpful to you and that you're happy with the results.Amy72,Hopefully aharris23 will come back and reply directly, but in case they don't, i would assume they didn't want a 5* hotel in the South Strip zone... prefering to only bid the North Strip. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. aharris23 Posted March 18, 2008 Author Report Posted March 18, 2008 Amy,He's correct. I've already stayed at The Hotel and at Mandalay Bay a few times, and I wanted to give Venetian or Palazzo a try. That's why I didn't include the South Strip (the Hotel is nice, though).
