tchen11 Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 hi im new to this. But im trying to get a 4* in vancouver 3/21-3/25.I looked at the FAQ and other threads on how to rebid zones. I need some help finding which name of zones to use to rebid, more clearly on the zones. Im not sure how to check and don't want to do the wrong ones. but i see Surrey - Langley, North Vancouver, Aldergrove - Abbotsford dont have 4 stars. Can someone clarify? Thanks in advance
thereuare Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! You should know how to check your re-bid zones on your own as they should be checked before every bidding cycle to make sure nothing has changed... hotels are added/removed/upgraded/downgraded all the time.Start here: Priceline Re-Bidding ExplainedIf the above link is confusing list each PRICELINE zone and the highest star rating available in each using the following technique from Priceline Re-Bidding Explained:The way to check what star levels are available in each zone is to open a Priceline page, check ONLY the zone you are inquiring about, and then proceed to the next page (as if you were going to select a zone)... this will give you the available star ratings in that area. You can then hit BACK on your browser, uncheck the current box, check the next box, and repeat the process. It is important to do this before EACH attempt at adding a zone that you really don't want, as new hotels can be added and the star ratings can change at any time. (NOTE: for most users Priceline has updated their interface making the above process easier... simply check a zone and note the highest star rating available within each zone, UNcheck that zone and checkmark the next zone, repeating the process)If the above is also confusing just post back and we'll break it down further for you step-by-step.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. KimbertEyestain Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Hello tchen11,thereuare is offering the best advice; this allows you to always double check to make sure you don't accidentally end up somewhere you don't want to be. I just bid on a 4* Vancouver Downtown for about the same dates you're wanting and got a room at the Marriot Pinnacle for $73 per night. I bid $70 to start, got rejected, added North Vancouver and re-bid $73. It's my understanding that right now there are only 4* hotels in Downtown Vancouver and at the Airport. Depending on where you want to stay, you can re-bid with any combination that does not have the other 4* location (Downtown or Airport). PRICELINE will show you what star ratings are available in each location by checking the boxes on Step A in the Name Your Own Price.Good luck. It's definitely nerve-wracking to bid when you're not used to it!
