I was hoping to win a four-star in downtown Denver--no luck. I began my bidding at $75. Using rebid zones, I reached my max at $95. Is my price too low?

I jumped over to HOTWIRE, which doesn't show much of anything for those days, other than a 3.5* at $72. Should I wait?

Yes, I'm willing to split my bid. I think I understand the strategy, but what would you suggest as a starting bid for each night/group of nights?

Should I bid Wednesday - Friday evenings on the high-side, then Saturday and Sunday evenings a bit lower? Or is Friday considered a weekend evening?

I assume you're only willing to change hotels one... or is splitting twice (three different hotels) an option as well?

Well, of course I'd very much prefer to not change at all. However, I'm willing to change once.

Twice might start to feel excessive, particularly since my days/evenings are going to be particularly full.

In addition to my question above regarding dates....

I'm not sure I'm seeing nine rebid zones. Betterbidding's Priceline Hotel List has no information on Northeast Denver and Littleton; both are included in Priceline's Denver map.

Otherwise, I see just seven potential rebid zones:

Aurora

Airport

Denver Southwest/Lakewood

Denver West

Northglenn/Thornton

Stapleton

Tech Center - North

The following are NOT rebid zones for me:

Cherry Creek

Tech Center - South

Westminster

The dates i posted above are correct. You don't want to simply split your stay in half, it's done based upon rates for each nite of your stay. Ideally you want to get as many nites as possible included in the first purchase, which is what the above enables you to do.

If successful for any of the dates post back to take care of the balance.

Many thanks! I understand the strategy of grouping nights. And of course, I should have looked at Priceline's star levels/maps.

I've just re-run my initial dates through Priceline , 7/30 - 8/4, using nine rebid zones. Each bid was denied.

I used the PRICELINE link on Betterbidding.

After hitting my bid, I was offered the chance to extend my stay. I attempted to extend for my nights of 7/30 and 7/31, but was unsuccessful.

Any suggestions for the evenings of 7/30 and 7/31? I need to be downtown, ideally in a four-star but I'm willing to go down to three. I think my max remains $95.

While the remaining nites of your stay are more expensive than the other nites, now at least you have 5 nites of your stay out of the way and only 2 nites remaining... instead of still looking for half your stay.
