bcurrey Posted March 13, 2008 Author Report Posted March 13, 2008 Apparently I didn't mention in my prior post, but I have reservations at the Wellington for $239. Of the zones I've listed above, is there an area to avoid when considering a 3*?
thereuare Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Whether or not you would be happy with a 3* hotel in NYC depends upon what you expect from your stay... is a hotel room just a clean bed to sleep in or do you utilize the services of a hotel? Before moving forward, i'll also point out the Gild Hall which is going thru a 'soft opening'. The hotel is downtown (ie- not midtown) and some services aren't available (ie-restaurants, room service, etc), but at $169/nite (average thru Quikbook) this is a very nice deal for NYC. To make the deal even better, if you're willing to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID, you can book the first two nites of your stay for just $109/nite thru Quickbook... then make alternate plans for the last nite of your stay (thru priceline, hotwire, etc). While this may not be your ideal location, you can read the reviews HERE, and for $109/nite the first two nites, it is something you may want ot consider.Let us know if the above is an option and we'll take it from there. bcurrey Posted March 13, 2008 Author Report Posted March 13, 2008 Thanks for the response.Gild Hall is certainly an option. However, I
thereuare Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 The Guild Hall is cancellable thru Quickbook, so if that is going to be your back-up i would book it to make sure that they don't sell out of that rate. (please the Quikbook link in this thread)Storing your bags at the hotel shouldn't be a problem, but an increasing number of hotels are charging for this 'service' :)If you let us know your maximum bid at each star level we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. bcurrey Posted March 13, 2008 Author Report Posted March 13, 2008 Let's say $200 for a 4* and $160 for a 3*.
bcurrey Posted March 14, 2008 Author Report Posted March 14, 2008 Tried $145 on 3*'s in TS and UMT-CP but was rejected.
