Mstngman Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 I just booked a Thursday (3/20) and Friday (3/21) with PRICELINE via Name Your Price at the 4-star Marriott Baltimore Waterfront in Maryland. Bid date was today 3/10/08.At first I selected the Inner Harbor as my area and selected 4-star. I bid at $75 and was rejected and given the $22 offer.About a half hour later and some reading on this absolutely awesome forum I decided to rezone the area and selected West Baltimore and the Inner Harbor area. I kept the star rating at 4. It is important to note that West baltimore's highest rated hotel was 2-stars removing my risk of getting a 4-star outside of the Inner Harbor area.I then submitted my bid of $88 which was accepted. Best part is I was hoping to get the Marriot Baltimore Waterfont and I did. I am a Marriott Rewards Silver member and called to get a rate on a room prior to going to priceline. I was quoted at $259 per night which was absurd! I actually considered using 46,000 of my Marriot points to book a room, but decided to search around and told them I would get back to them. This is roughly a $340 savings and I get to keep my points for another time.Bottom line, I made what I feel is a great deal and a great decision to join this forum. Thanks everyone!
