eianson Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Hey all. I need some expert advice. My sister has volunteered to watch the kids for a weekend while my wife and I go to Vegas for my 40th b-day. The weekend we have agreed upon is April 25-27. Now, before I book a flight, I
cuDSM Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Hi there. I am not sure if this against the board rules...but as a back-up you may want to try booking with Palazzo directly. They have a special going on right now. So this way you can try bidding and get a lower rate (granted it may Venetian or Palazzo for North Strip), but also have a back-up as this is a refundable rate as long as you cancel before 72 of your actual stay. :) http://palazzolasvegas.com/epn0308.aspx?EMC-EPN0308
eianson Posted March 11, 2008 Author Report Posted March 11, 2008 You are awesome. I've been search all the sites (even the Palazzo site) and haven't been able to find anything under $200Thanks!
cuDSM Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Who knows...if you try to bid a room...throw some low ball offers out there, you might be able to get a room for cheaper. At least you know you have a good back-up plan!
hl23 Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 with those weekend nights @179 i would start bidding @120 and expect success lower than 150 maybe 140 or even less! good luck and let us know!

BKBASSMAN Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Good luck in your quest. I'm staying there 3/30-4/2 for my brother's 40th! We each got rooms(I mean, suites) with bids of $149 a couple weeks ago. Have a great birthday.
thereuare Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 BKBASSMAN,Can you please add the details of your winning bid(s) to the board... perhaps the info could have helped the OP and/or others.Thanks. eianson Posted March 13, 2008 Author Report Posted March 13, 2008 So far no luck. The only counter-offer I am getting is on my first bid and that is for $229. I've got plenty of time so, I'll just keep bidding between 120 and 150. With the $179 reservation, I don't see much of a point in bidding above 150.
