burtonair Posted March 9, 2008 Author Report Posted March 9, 2008 Yes, I prefer to not have to take the subway / look for parking in the White House area that would be involved if i stayed in dupont circle. Also, the hilton sounds old. Perhaps this 3* may be newer even though less amenities.
thereuare Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Not sure exactly where in the zone you need to be, but just outside of the White House zone (1155 14th Street NW) you can book the new Thompson Hotel, The Donovan House, for just $135/nite thru Quickbook (this is also cancellable so may be a good back-up hotel for you).This hotel hasn't even opened yet, but the Thompson group has been doing some very nice, and sleek, things in the NYC hotel market, rehabing old properties with updated and 'chic' decor. Their projects are often delayed, so i wouldn't count on some services such as a restaurant and/or room service to be fully functional (or opened it all... although they may be), but this is probably a hotel deal you won't see again after the hotel is fully operational.Please use our Quickbook link to begin your purchase if you go this route.Will this work for your plans? thereuare Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Unfortunately neither of the HOTWIRE properties above have been identified... the 3* does look like a Holiday Inn property, but i can't find anything which matches the secondary info provided. The 4* is close to the Omni Shoreham, but that property also has been seen with a Pool icon, so not a match there.So unfortunately not much insight.Did you book the Thompson thru Quickbook as a back-up?
