off2vegas
We were hoping to get this at $99 but this was the lowest we could get after bidding for several weeks. This time, we started bidding at $90 to start out and got a counteroffer of $133. That same day (two days ago), Hotwire was offering Strip 5* hotel for $138. We counteroffered at $110, $115 and finally $120. We already have a room at the Venetian from 5/30-6/2 for $129 a night. We didn't think of Priceline but checked various websites and then called the hotel directly to see if they'd match one (Expedia was offering $169 a night a couple weeks ago). The hotel said if we prepaid we could get this "special" rate of $129.Maybe if we were willing to wait until next week to bid, we could have gotten the night of 6/3 for $99. But we didn't want to risk and wait till the last minute while we were on vacatin. We had Luxor as a backup for the last night at $129 or $119. Link to comment
