dustysky33 Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Hi all, I am new here but it looks like this is the place to be IF you want answers :)Ok, I am so confused right now, I have been using PRICELINE for so long and I have never had the luck I am having these days.I just bid in the Fairgrounds are for 14-16th of March. I had failed bids so I added the downtown, failed again. Thats fine, I went and added Brandon. I got a hotel:Extended Stay America Tampa - Temple Terrace 2-starTampa North12242 Morris Bridge RoadTemple Terrace, Florida 33637813-989-2264$50. a nightWell thats FINE, however Temple Terrace is not even a "zone" and I called the hotel, they have NO pool and NO restaurant's. Can you tell me HOW PRICELINE determans the stars etc. I mean I would have thought a pool was standard!I am so upset :)
AaronJB Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 A pool is not standard anywhere. Many 4*s and 3*'s in downtown Chicago, for example, do not offer a pool. Priceline determines star rating by the hotel's AAA diamond star rating in most cases. The Extended Stay hotels are 2*. Many 2*'s don't have pool or restaurant.HOTWIRE is a similar discount service to PRICELINE. That will tell you if the hotel has a pool or not.
thereuare Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! This hotel is in the Tampa (North) zone and is clearly within the defned boundaries of the PRICELINE map which defines this zone. The name of the zone is really just a 'guide' for what boundaries are covered by the area, the 'final say' are the boundaries shown on the map.As mentioned above, if there are certain amenities which you require from your stay, HOTWIRE may be a better option as they will show you the amenities offered before your purchase.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dustysky33 Posted March 9, 2008 Author Report Posted March 9, 2008 Thank you for your replies. Its just odd to me that as I said I have been using priceline for at least 4 or more years now and have never had such luck as my last two bids. I emailed priceline and they were helpful in answering my question as were you here. Thanks again. SincerlyNo swimming this trip :)
thereuare Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Please post your future wins to the board and it would be appricated if you used these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. everyshadeofblue Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 I live near this hotel... it's nice and I think you'll like it. Lots of hotels in this area so just walk over and use someone else's pool :) There's a Bob Evans restaurant nearby as well as a Wendy's.
