ChadTheTraveler Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Hotel VillaBlanca in Cozumel. We stayed in a superior king near the pool. The front desk staff was beyond fantastic. The house keeping service was outstanding. Our housekeeper made little swans and left them about our room after we tipped her 50 pesos (5.00 US). The proximity to scuba diving right off shore was great. I rented gear from the dive shop next door and had a great experience. The bathroom was huge.. the deep roman style tub and shower tiled with travertine was pretty cool. The only issue we had was with the scooter rental company (explora) the hotel recommended and arranged for us. Don't do it! Find another company. We left a credit card imprint with the company as requested.. They stated that they would not charge the card for any reason because of the 15% fee assesed in Mexico and wanted us to pay cash for our rental. As it turns out they attempted to charge my card $250 US the second they returned to their office. When we turned the scooters in they then insisted we pay another $250 in US for a scratch. blatant extortion.
