Im new to betterbidding and PRICELINE.

Im looking for a 4* hotel in neworleans french quarter or downtown cbd area for under $80. dates 13-17th March.

Rates are very expensive for the third nite of your stay... to make sure your budget is realistic, do you have a back-up plan anywhere near your maximum bid amount (even at twice that amount?).

We can suggest a strategy for your to try, but i don't think it's realistic. You might find success for part of your stay within your budget above, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

Yes, splitting would be OK, perhaps I will do a 3* for the first 3 nights, 4* for the next 3.

Your first post indicates a 4 nite stay, but your next quote above is indicative of 6 nites... what are the correct dates?

I don't know what is going on in NOLA that weekend, but things are as tight as I've ever seen it in years. (I had been considering a trip myself).

Not just hotels, most flights are completely sold out as well.

So, go ahead and try, but $80 may be overly optimistic if you need the 4* level.

Quikbook had some decent availability, so maybe look there if you can't hit on PRICELINE.
