Hi,

I hope I am posting this in the appropriate place. I've read over several threads and am quite confused :) and would appreciate some current guidance and help. I plan to go to NYC from 7/2 to 7/5 (dates are flexible) and am looking for 2 rooms in MTW and MTE primarily. I am interested in 3.5* to 4* hotels. There are 6 of us traveling in the group (2 adults and 4 kids (3 teenagers and an 11 yr old) so the rooms will need two beds. My budget is in the $200-$250 range. Anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed finding someting?

Thanks in advance! :)

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Few things before we begin...

so the rooms will need two beds.
PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy... after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. It's generally considered risky to book for more than double occupancy in NYC as rooms are notoriously small, and many of the hotels have a large percentage of rooms with only one bed and no room for a rollaway. See the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.

On the other hand, HOTWIRE allows you to search for up to quad occupancy. It will cost you a little more than PRICELINE, but it will enable you to guarantee enough sleeping accomodations for everyone in your group.

My budget is in the $200-$250 range.
Is that per nite or per room, per room per stay, etc?

Let us know the above and we'll take it from there.

Well, there are 3 males and 3 females and I plan to share a room with my two sons and my significant other will share with my daughter and her girlfriend, so it's pretty important to have two beds. Hotwire does have a 4 star hotel in MTE for $215. It has a fitness center, business center, restaurants, high speed, and tennis nearby. Sounds like the Grand Hyatt?

The HOTWIRE offering above matches both the Grand Hyatt and the Inter-Continental Barclay, so either of those would be a good guess. Of these two, i think the one you're seeing is more likely the Inter-Continental Barclay and that would be our best guess.
