yankeegirl Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Hi guys - would appreciate some help with a bidding strategy for a one night stay 3/10/08 - 3/11/08 in Boston, preferably Quincy market area. I see the Hyatt regency has been won recently and that would be fine - tried four bids on Saturday starting at $60 but stopped when $100 was rejected (figuring I would try again in a few days). Any thoughts?
thereuare Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 What is your maximum bid for this stay?Is the Quincy Market zone the only one you're willing to accept? Please use this PRICELINE link to begin your bidding. yankeegirl Posted March 4, 2008 Author Report Posted March 4, 2008 I would not like to go above $100, possibly $110. Quincy is the only option I'd like as well - maybe I'm being too picky? - but for our activities, some of the hotels being won in the Copley area are just too far out...
thereuare Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 Not sure how flexible you are in price but you could probably be successful on PRICELINE somewhere between $110-$140.Alternately HOTWIRE has a 3* for $89, but not sure if you want to lower your star rating.Have you tried Quickbook, GTA Hotels, and/or Last Minute Travel? Please use the links in this thread, and/or the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links in my signtuare below, to begin any purchases you make.Let us know your thoughts on the above or if the alternage source we suggested turn up anything or if we can be of further help. yankeegirl Posted March 6, 2008 Author Report Posted March 6, 2008 Went with a 3* - started with $65, rejected, increased to $75, accepted. Holiday Inn Beacon Hill (though it's actually in the Quincy/ Financial district), one night 3/10/08. Thanks for the help, and I used the PRICELINE link of course!
jbelle7435 Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 last year I got the mellenia (4*)for 90/night for two nights in march. Maybe it was some luck but I got f'd!!!(40/day parking) I learned my lesson. Going to stay in Boston call that hotel you get before you arrive so you have a plan for the parking.
thereuare Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Congratulations on your success!Glad to hear you found something affordable to meet your needs.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and for using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
