trevans
Hi,I am heading up to New York in July. The dates are Friday 16th july for 2 nights. I am hoping not to pay more that $130 a night. The area i would like to stay in is MTW, MTE is also an optionDo you think that I could get a 4* hotel?? I have stayed in Hilton New York before and I liked it, any good bidding advice to get this??Well, any advice is appreciated since I've never used priceline before. Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! So that i give you the appropriate strategy... would you prefer a MTW hotel at $130 or a MTE hotel at $100? (not saying that either would be successful, but need to know in order to give you the strategy tailored towards your preferences). What about the UM/CPS zone... is that an option as well?Lastly, since you've never used Priceline before, have you read and understand the concept of RE-BIDDING? trevans
Thanks for you prompt replyWell, I prefer a MTW hotel at $130 than a MTE hotel at $100.UM/CPS could be an option as well, but as I told you my first option is MTW.I read another post here about re-bidding and I think that I get the idea. Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
At the 4* level you have 2 re-bid zones (feel free to confirm them with the board if you are unsure) and this is how i would proceed...Select 4* MTW and....Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone #1 andBid $110, if rejected close browser and start over with a new screen and...Select 4* MTW and re-bid zone #2 and...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone #1 (so now you're bidding MTW, rebid1, and rebid2) and...Bid $130IF THE ABOVE IS REJECTED start over at new screen and....Select 4* and MTE and... Bid $95, if rejected add MTW and...Bid $105, if rejected add UM/CPS and...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone #1 and...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone #2 and...Bid $130.Let us know if you have any questions regarding the above and keep us updated as to your progress.Good Luck. trevans
I tried these bidding strategies for a 4* hotel preferably at at MTW and they didn't work...Select 4* MTW and....Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone #1 andBid $110, if rejected close browser and start over with a new screen and...Select 4* MTW and re-bid zone #2 and...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone #1 (so now you're bidding MTW, rebid1, and rebid2) and...Bid $130IF THE ABOVE IS REJECTED start over at new screen and....Select 4* and MTE and...Bid $95, if rejected add MTW and...Bid $105, if rejected add UM/CPS and...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone #1 and...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone #2 and...Bid $130.I increased my bidding and with the second strategy I gotSofitel New YorkCheck In: July 16Check Out : July 18Offer Price:150$Thanks for your help Link to comment

trevans
It was not a huge difference, so I'm happy with the offer. Thanks for your help. I think that I'll need you again for a trip to San Francisci :) Link to comment
