Priceline Hotel: Ottawa Bidding Strategy Help

hi everyone,

hoping you can help me formulate a bidding strategy for the following details:

4* Ottawa (not hull, glo, or ottawa west)

march 21 - march 23

i've noticed that the three other zones DO NOT have 4* properties so that means i have a few re-bidding zones. is that correct?

i'd like to pay a maximum of $60 per night.

i have a back-up hotel already booked.

no update yet ... we actually had a glitch with our airfare booking so i'm just waiting to finalize that before i try PL for paris. i'll post an update when i'm done (hopefully with good news!!)

At the 4* level you have three re-bid zones.

Select 4* Ottawa...

Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $48, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Ottawa and re-bid zone2...

Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $53, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Ottawa and re-bid zone3...

Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $57, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.

Select 4* Ottawa and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3...

Bid $59, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $60.

i've tried this strategy for a few nights now ...and no bites. not even a counter offer. think that's a 'bad' sign?? also wonder if my chances are lower b/c it is easter weekend (long weekend in canada) from march 21 - 23. i am willing to bid for a 3* ... but would like to pay $50 max for a 3*. what should my strategy be? tks!!!

Unfortunately you have no re-bid zones available at the 3* level. I would go ahead and bid $45 and then 24 hours later try $50.

For a 4* i think you have a decent chance of success at under $75, if you wanted to gradually increase your bid a little beyond your current budget.
