I am looking to spend up to $200/night.Any suggestions?

gold24k Posted March 3, 2008 Author Report Posted March 3, 2008 I am looking to stay in the Ka'anapali - Lahaina zone, at any resort. If I am not successful there, then I would stay at the Wailea - Makena zone, at any resort. Thanks again!
thereuare Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 You have one re-bid zones available when bidding Resort in Maui. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select Resort Ka'anapali...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140.Any questions feel free to ask. (rates are low, so we're lowballing a bit, so don't get discouraged if the above is rejected)Please use this PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. gold24k Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 Sheraton - 199/nightWestin - 350/nightHyatt - Lowest is 383/nightWeird
thereuare Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 I think you've already bid too high (and why our strategy only went to $140 for the time being)...HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the Ka'anapli zone for $169/nite (best guess is the Sheraton) which would be cheaper than the $185 you have already bid on PRICELINE. (HOTWIRE amenities: Resort, Beachfront, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa, Childrens Actvities, Golf, Tennis, Laundry)Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. gold24k Posted March 12, 2008 Author Report Posted March 12, 2008 I have been trying for the last couple of weeks, and in the meantime, saw resort prices in Maui increase significantly. This morning, I bid $175 for a resort in Maui (Ka'anapali - Lahaina zone) and was rejected. However, priceline stated that if I was willing to increase me bid by $25 (for a total bid of $200) they would let me rebid on the same zone. Knowing that this would result in a winning bid, I bid $200 and ended up getting the Hyatt Regency Resort in Maui for $200 a night. I am very happy as this hotel seems very nice and was routinely priced no less that $350/night It seems as if there are a few others looking for a hotel in Maui around the time that I am staying. I hope this helps.
