twinsmomvj Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Hi there! I just signed up here, after seeing this message board referenced on a Disney message board. I am trying to book one night for my family (2 adults, 2 kids) near the airport on May 9th. My search on HOTWIRE shows a 3* for $49. Should I book that or attempt a cheaper rate via priceline?? We would like a 3* hotel. Any suggestions as to how I should proceed would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much! :)
thereuare Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Few things to consider:-have you identified the hotel offered thru HOTWIRE? What are the amenities HOTWIRE associates with the property?-are you searching HOTWIRE for 2adults/2children? PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. While i'd consider the risks lower in a family oriented area such as Orlando, it's still a risk you need to be aware of and only you can decide if you're willing to takeLet us know your thoughts on the above and we'll advise accordingly. If you move forward before replying, please use this HOTWIRE or PRICELINE link to begin your purchase. twinsmomvj Posted March 1, 2008 Author Report Posted March 1, 2008 I have not yet identified the hotwire hotel. Here are the details:"This midscale establishment offers more than just the basics in style, comfort and customer service."Indicates 51% savings ($51)Amenities include: airport shuttle, fitness center, pool, business center, high speed internet accessTrip advisor reviews give rating of 4 out of 5Any thoughts as to the hotel's identity?I did search HOTWIRE for 2 adults, 2 kids -so am I more likely to get 2 beds this route than via PRICELINE?Thank you again for your help!! :)
thereuare Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 The above is a match for the Wingate Inn so that would be our best guess.HOTWIRE guarantees sleeping accomodations for each person you include in your search, whereas all priceline reservations are for double occupancy (and up to the hotel after that)... so if you want to ensure two beds (in extreme/rare situations one of which could be a pull-out couch) then HOTWIRE is a better way to go.Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. twinsmomvj Posted March 1, 2008 Author Report Posted March 1, 2008 Thanks so much! I used the HOTWIRE link provided here to proceed. I did get the Wingate by Wyndham Orlando International Airport for $49 on 5/9/08. Thanks so much for your help! eta: please edit my title/etc. as needed. :)
