daydream Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 my preferred choice is either the Hilton Metrotown or Holiday Inn Express (which ever has the lowest price).I found a 3* hotel ($79) with the following Amenities:Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Tennis Nearbyand a 2.5* hotel ($66) with the following Amenities:Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearbyfrom the hotel listing from this forum, there should be Complimentary Breakfast if it is Holiday Inn and should have spa for Hilton. I couldn't see them from the offer. The hotel I am trying avoid is Ramada Hotel and Suites Metrotown (if it gets a star inflation from 2.5 to 3).any clue?
tilepusher Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 The 2.5* hotel is probably the Ramada Metrotown. However, a different 2.5* now appears for this zone, one that I haven't yet been able to identify. My best guess for the 3* hotel is the Best Western Coquitlam Inn. I could easily be wrong, but this hotel is definitely a possibility; if you're looking for something close to Metrotown Centre, this would not be a safe choice. Please use this HOTWIRE link to start your Hotwire purchases.
daydream Posted March 1, 2008 Author Report Posted March 1, 2008 would I be better off using PRICELINE? but how can I avoid the 3* The Inn at New Westminster (too far away) as 3* Hilton Metrotown has the same star level? is there any new 3* in the PRICELINE burnaby list?
tilepusher Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid the Inn at Westminster Quay if you bid for a 3* on Priceline; the Holiday Inn North Vancouver is also a possibility. Bidding for a hotel in PRICELINE's Coquitlam-Burnaby zone is chancy if you need a hotel close to a particular place. Unless a hotel comes up on Hotwire that appears to be the Hilton or Holiday Inn Express, you may have to go through non-opaque channels for this stay.
daydream Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 I just searched again and found hotels has changed:the 3* hotel is now $75 with Amenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s) and Business Centerthe 2.5* hotel is now $59 with Amenities: Pool(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Accessis HOTWIRE changing the hotel's amentities or new hotels that are not on the list?
