Priceline Hotel: 3* Boston (Quincy Market-Faneuil Hall-Financial District) Holiday Inn

In retrospect, I really screwed this up in a number of ways.

There was an $89/night hotel listed on HOTWIRE that I'm pretty sure was this same hotel, which (in retrospect) is what I should have booked. I originally specified 4*'s at $100 and was rejected, then when I went back to change the star rating (I needed to be very specific about the area) I should have dropped the price but did not. This was actually bid for/booked on Friday the 22nd. The bid was submitted for Tues/Wed only; the Monday night was added on after the bid was accepted.

Also, I originally booked for the wrong dates (Tues & Wed instead of Mon & Tues) (because of an error in my work calendar scheduling, not because I selected incorrectly) so now I have a reservation for Wednesday that I won't be using, but oh well.... its still a business expense, and even with the extra unused night my workplace is still saving over $100. I'm quite jealous of the $80 Hyatt in the same area listed just below this topic, but that must reflect the difference between weekend and weekday availablity.

Thanks to the folks who update and maintain this board. It was very useful and I'll be keeping an eye on this when I have travel needs in the future.

I'm not at home so time is limited right now, but wanted to make sure you that you know to call the hotel on the scheduled day of arrival to let them know that you won't be arriving (tell them that you had a problem, missed flight, car trouble, etc)... this will make sure that they don't consider you a 'no show' and give your room away for the balance of your stay. If necessary you can give them a credit card over the phone and ask them to check you into the room.
