Patrick Bober Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Hello there. I am new to the site and wanted to thank everyone for their info!!! I am proposing to my girlfriend and will be in NYC for 2 nights 4/11 to 4/13. I am looking for a 4 * hotel anywhere in Midtown and looking to bid a maximum of $200 (of course ideally around $150) I have read the zones post but if anyone has any suggestions on other zones, I would open to any advice. Again thank you very much!!!
thereuare Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your upcoming engagement.Unfortunately i don't think $150 is going to be enough for a 4* hotel in Midtown for these dates, and $200 may be pushing it as well. However, you can give it a shot and if rejected we'll discuss some options from there. At the 4* level you have 2 re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTW...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Times Square...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* UM/CPS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Times Square and UM/CPS...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTS and MTE...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and Times Square...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTS and MTW...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and UM/CPS...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and Times Square...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTS and Times Square...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW and Times Square...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $190, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTS and UM/CPS and Times Square...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $190, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW and MTS and UM/CPS and Times Square...Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $200, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $205 (if you made it this far and want to go the extra $5)Any questions feel free to ask.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Patrick Bober Posted February 23, 2008 Author Report Posted February 23, 2008 Thank you so much for your help!!! Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. Is this something I should try everyday and maybe something might be released closer to my travel date? Should I start looking at 3*? Again your work is appreciated!!
AaronJB Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 There is a 4* in the Downtown/Soho area on HOTWIRE for $192. While not a central area or exactly where you were looking for, I thought I'd bring it up as an alternate idea. The hotel (4*, fitness, business, pool, internet, restaurant) would appear to be a match for the Millennium Hilton.
Patrick Bober Posted February 23, 2008 Author Report Posted February 23, 2008 Thanks alot for the info...I think I'm going to keep trying for midtown. Have a month and a half so we will see if I can pull something off!!
Patrick Bober Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 Still no luck...do you think if I change my dates to 4/4 thru 4/6, I would have a better shot? Looks like hotel rates are down a little. What do you think?
AaronJB Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 If you have the flexibility to switch dates slightly, it's worth giving it a try. If you switch dates, I'd start low again, though.
Patrick Bober Posted February 29, 2008 Author Report Posted February 29, 2008 Hello there...please help identify the following:3.5* MTEApril 11-13Fitness, business center, restaurants, hi speed internet. Thanks for your help and let me know if you need anymore info!
thereuare Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. The above matches the Roosevelt, Radisson on Lexington, and the Tudor Hotel at the UN, so either of these would be a good guess, but my best guess is that you're seeing the Roosevelt above. Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make (or our PRICELINE link if you continue to bid)Let us know what you decide or if we can be of further help.
