Priceline Hotel: 5* Vegas Strip help

I have read and used this wonderful site for several years. It has been very helpful. Thank you. However this is my first post which I should apologize for.

I am taking my wife to Vegas for her 30th on the weekend of April 3rd through Apr 6th. I always use priceline when I am heading out of town and make sure I stp by betterbidding before I make my first bid.

This is the first time I am actually kind of worried that I wont be able to find what I am looking for. I understand how to re-bid and all of that. I have been trying for about a week. From reading past posts it looks like the Venetian and Palazzio are the main 5* hotels. I actually was in the Palazzio 2 weeks ago for work and didnt have to worry about cost :) However I am not having any luck. I usually start at 145 and get all the way up to $187 with no success. I think my max would be 200 for this trip. Is there something big going on this weekend? Do I need to be patient up until its alittle closer? I have used savingsbarn as well.

Any suggestions?

We're glad you decided to register and post, and hopefully we'll hear more about, and help with, your future travel plans.

It may just be early, but with the rates i'm currently seeing, the amounts you have already bid would be far from a 'sure things' (as your rejections are evidence of).

The first nite of your stay is more expensive than the other two nties, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

Repeat your bids using the following dates:

4/4-4/6, if that is rejected retry

4/3-4/5

Keep in mind that if successfulf or either of the above two nites, you may have to change hotels for the remaining nite.
